Hoshino Resorts Kai Kawaji Hot Spring 界川治

As one of the Christmas gifts to my family, we went to Hoshino resorts in Kawaji Onsen.

My grandma had her a rib bone broken a few days ago, so, it was worried, but we managed to take her because she was looking forward to it. LOL

We got off at Kawaji-Yumoto station on Yagan Railway, in Nikko Tochigi.
Surprisingly, even though this is Kanto area, here there is nothing around the station, even taxi stop... So this place may be good for just relaxing at Onsen.

It's one rail railway. We took Revaty, which is Tobu's direct express train connected from Asakusa, Kasukabe.

Kai Kawaji (界 川治) is one of brand names of Hoshino resorts' hot spring)
This place seems to be acquired and have been renovated by Hoshino.
(I've also stayed at Kinugawa one before, but that was original building.)

Part of the building, seems to be old.

It has nice and cozy atmosphere at night time, with lamps made by gourds.
Those are also set up at outdoor hot spring.

Gourds is one of the famous products from here.
They offer edible gourd, products made by them, etc.

One of the fun times in Onsen is a dinner.
Kai serves Washoku cuisine made of local ingredients.

Here are some photos from dinners.

View from my room. It is in front of a river, maybe summer, autumn time would be the best season for this view because trees would be green or yellow.

Cozy and spacious room.

Another good time from breakfast.
We chose from 8:30 to have it.
There are explanation about their local cuisines.

This is normal one, but also use some local ingredients named Kanpyo.

Onikozo-jiru (鬼子蔵汁) was warm, lightly salted soup with lots of vegetables.
Scrumptious!

It was just 1 night stay, but my grandma was very happy to come and stay, took onsen with us.

Hope we could do this more frequently the next year.
